Sprint the hills

Sprint the hills

Hey everyone,

Thank you for all the positive feedback to last week’s 12. I wasn’t able to respond to all of you individually, but know that your words were received and I appreciate each and every one of you.

I worked all through the weekend and also spent all of Saturday afternoon at the dealership finally getting a car (2016 Honda Civic). I usually spend some time mapping out a few ideas of what I might write. Today I looked up at 5:30 p.m. and realized it was Tuesday and I had no theme, no idea, nothing.

So I thought I’d share this photo with y’all:

It’s from three years ago, when Melissa Harris-Perry ran a half marathon in D.C. and some friends of mine decided to be fan girls and boy and stand along the race route in our neighborhood and cheer her on (I’m the 2nd one from the left). Not only did MHP stop and take a picture with us, she tweeted it AND showed it on her show, reminding everyone to “sprint the hills” when things are hard.

It’s a good reminder, especially since MSNBC cancelled MHP’s show this week. I can’t wait to see how she ends up sprinting up that hill to something even better.

Until next Tuesday,
